Calcium Carbonate

Isocal-500® contains calcium carbonate BP (1.25 g) providing 500 mg elemental calcium, used as an oral calcium supplement to help meet increased calcium requirements and support bone and tooth health, including in osteoporosis prevention and treatment when dietary intake is inadequate. Calcium carbonate supplies calcium needed for normal musculoskeletal and neuromuscular function, and it should be used cautiously in patients with hypercalcaemia/hypercalciuria or significant renal impairment.

Composition: Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP 1.250 gm equivalent to 500 mg elemental calcium.

Indications

Raised calcium requirement e, g, during pregnancy and lactation and in children and adolescents at times of rapid growth Inadequate intake of calcium in the diet due to malnutrition. Prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. Disorders of osteogenesis and tooth formation(in addition to specific treatment), latent tetany.
