Breathair®
Montelukast Sodium
Breathair contains Montelukast 10 mg (as montelukast sodium), a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks the cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT₁) receptor, helping reduce leukotriene-mediated airway edema, smooth-muscle constriction, and inflammatory activity. It is used for prophylaxis and chronic control of asthma (and is also used for allergic rhinitis in many product labels), but it is not intended for relief of acute bronchospasm.

Detailed Information
Montelukast is a selective and orally active leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene CysLT₁ receptor. Cysteinyl leukotrienes and leukotriene receptor occupation have been correlated with the pathophysiology of asthma ( such as, airway edema, smooth muscle contraction and altered cellular activity associated with the inflammatory process, which contribute to the signs and symptoms of asthma).
